Designed as a large beetle with garnet wings, rose-cut diamond body and ruby eyes, in silver and 18k gold
Condition
Weight: 12.0 grams
Brooch measuring 19 mm x 40 mm
Garnets, of a dark tone of violetish red colour, good polish, good matching
Rubies of a medium tone of strong red colour, good matching
Diamonds, total estimated weight 0.30 carat, of J-K colour, VS2-I1 clarity
Good condition, with minor solder repair to the latch, some tarnishing, one short leg (left side, mid-body) is weakened due to a fissure in the gold (minor solder repair recommended)
With French assay stamps for 18K gold. Numbered, on the underside of the abdomen, "628"
