Tanzanite: 16.30 x 14.00 x 10.72 mm, a medium tone of vivid blue colour, very good clarity, very good cut. Tanzanite, named after its country of origin, Tanzania, was introduced to the world in 1967 by Tiffany & Co. It is basically a single source gem, with virtually all specimens originating in Tanzania. Famous for its vivid blue colour, tanzanite is a rival for the colour of very fine sapphires. This ia a very fine example of this exceptional gem.
